Objectives
A. Understand the distinction between film criticism and film analysis;
B. Know the different film analysis methodologies;
C. Apply analysis methodologies to any film, regardless of time or genre;
D. Write original film analysis.
Program
1. Definition of cinematographic analysis and criticism;
2. Film analysis instruments and techniques;
3. Film analysis methodologies: textual analysis, film analysis as narrative, image and sound analysis, other film analyses (historical, cultural and ideological);
4. Writing analyzes and critiques of audiovisual works.
Evaluation Methodology
1. Frequency assessment
1.1 Attendance and regular intervention on the themes-films under discussion in class (10%).
1.2 Two written tests (attendance): one written test during the semester (45%) and another written test at the end of the semester (45%).
2. Exam-based assessment
2.1 Normal Season: Written test (attendance) covering all taught content (100%)
2.2 Appeal Season: Written test (attendance) covering all taught content (100%)
2.3 Special Season: Written test (attendance) covering all taught content (100%)
The evaluation is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 11 of the Academic Regulations of IPT Schools. Students who obtain a grade equal to or greater than 10 are exempt from the Exam.
