Hydrogen: the energy that moves the future.

 

The micro-credential aims to provide a structured understanding of the role of hydrogen in the energy transition within the mobility sector, addressing its relevance to decarbonization, its properties, and its comparison with other energy vectors.

The course also seeks to equip participants with the ability to understand storage, transport, and associated infrastructures, as well as the conversion technologies applied in mobility, including FCEV and HICEV. It also explores sector?specific transport applications and future challenges and opportunities.

Objectives

General Objective

Develop theoretical and practical skills on green hydrogen as an energy vector, with a focus on its use across different forms of mobility.

Specific Objectives

  • Understand the fundamentals of hydrogen as an energy vector in the transport sector.
  • Identify the types of hydrogen-powered vehicles and their main components.
  • Learn safe refueling and operation procedures.

Professional Goals

Although this micro-credential does not aim to create new specific professional pathways, the knowledge acquired strengthens the skills of professionals working in the energy, sustainability, and industrial sectors, enabling more informed participation in topics related to hydrogen and the energy transition.

Info to candidates

The course is part of the Interreg Europe UNLOCK project.

The first edition is exempt from tuition fees and application fees (insurance and diploma?issuance costs apply) and is limited to 15 places, with preference given to:

  • Technicians or managers from companies or organizations operating in or interested in the energy sector;

  • Residents or workers in the Médio Tejo region;

  • Participants enrolled in the micro?credentials “Green Hydrogen – Fundamentals” and “Green Hydrogen – Applications”.

This module covers the main hydrogen propulsion systems, from internal combustion engines to fully electric solutions, also exploring their applications across different transport sectors and the associated levels of technological maturity. In addition, it summarizes the architecture and use of FCEV vehicles, as well as the operation and requirements of refueling stations, including related safety measures and standards.
