L-TOUR is framed as a technical and scientific structure focused on the fields of tourism and culture, oriented towards the transfer of knowledge to the surrounding territory and towards collaboration with higher education institutions, public entities, specialised companies, tourism agents and cultural agents.

Its work is developed through projects, the creation and delivery of courses and specialised training activities, the organisation of events, the provision of consultancy services and support for the development of tourism and cultural products.

This framework is reinforced by the integration of students from the different study cycles of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar into ongoing projects, under technical and scientific guidance, promoting applied learning, entrepreneurship, connection with the territory and responses to concrete needs in tourism and cultural development.

In the current context, this statutory mission is also oriented towards applied innovation, the structuring of intelligent solutions and the articulation between tourism, culture, sustainability, management, economics and digital technologies.
