L-TOUR works with five types of organisation, each with its own needs.
- Municipalities and intermunicipal communities: evidence-based diagnostics, plans and funding applications, evaluation of events and strategies, routes and products. The laboratory delivers evaluation models, comparable municipal datasets, route-structuring studies and technical and scientific support for funding applications.
- Heritage managers, museums and cultural facilities: visitor insight, interpretation and communication, scientific programming. The laboratory delivers visitor and visit-experience studies, interpretive content, seminars and conferences.
- Tourism companies and operators: product development, experience design, staff training. The laboratory delivers tested experience prototypes, itineraries, short courses and micro-credentials.
- Cultural associations, local development associations and communities: assessing what a festival or event produces for the community, funding applications and support, memory and intangible heritage. The laboratory delivers outcome evaluations of cultural events, surveys of cultural agents and public funding, and documentation of practices.
- Higher education institutions and research networks: partners with fieldwork capacity and data for European projects and publications. The laboratory offers partnership in funding applications, participation in communities of practice, co-authorship and hosting of staff and student mobility.
Students and graduates of the Polytechnic University of Tomar take part in the laboratory's projects, as described under "Pedagogical Activity".
