Objectives
1. Identify the main threats to information security.
2. Design solutions that minimize damage from security attacks.
3. Configure security mechanisms and monitor their operation.
Program
1 - Security Threats and Policies;
2 - Data Security (Availability, Data Redundancy), Cryptography (Symmetric and Asymmetric, Encryption Modes, PKI), Digital Signatures, and Digital Certificates;
3 - Firewalls and Intrusion Detection;
4 - Secure Protocols (IPSec, SSL/TLS);
5 - Virtual Private Networks;
6 - Security Applied to Wireless Networks;
7 - Configuration and Monitoring of Security Solutions.
Evaluation Methodology
All evaluation periods:
- 20%: Direct classroom observation or oral exam
- 40%: Practical: Laboratory work, performed individually or in groups
- 40%: Theoretical: Written exam
Minimum grades:
8 out of 20 in the theoretical exam and
10 out of 20 in the practical exam.
