Objectives
This theoretical-practical course takes place in a laboratory environment in order to allow students to experimentally verify and confirm the electrical phenomena included in the syllabus.
The main objectives of this course are to
- Identify the symbols and main quantities of an electrical circuit;
- Explain and apply Ohm's law;
- Identify and correctly use measuring devices;
- State and apply Joule's law;
- Identify the quantities energy and power and their respective units of measurement.
Program
1-Notions of electricity
2-Conductive materials, semiconductors and insulators
3-Electrical circuit
4-Main electrical quantities
5-Ohm's law
6-Joule's law
7-Electrical resistance, resistivity, association of resistors
8-Work, energy and power
9-Measuring devices: ammeter, voltmeter and wattmeter
10-Application exercises
Evaluation Methodology
Evaluation through:
- Laboratory work carried out during the semester, 35%;
- A theoretical-practical work on the main physical-chemical properties of conductive, semiconducting and insulating substances and its presentation, 30%;
- Written test, 35%.
