Objectives
Risk Management is a methodology for analysis and decision support that currently knows multiple applications in the field of heritage conservation. The main objective of Risk Management is to familiarize students with these different applications, associated concepts and potentialities for its use in different scopes of conservation and restoration, to enable them to:
a) analyse, in a systematic and detailed manner, the risks that threaten a particular object, collection or site;
b) assess the risks impending on a particular object, site or collection, and define intervention priorities for their treatment;
c) design and implement preventive conservation plans, including monitoring and maintenance schemes;
d) monitor the preparation and implementation of safety plans;
e) communicate the risks and raise awareness to the importance of their management.

Evaluation Methodology
The final assessment of the course unit will be based on the assessment of a written assignment and its oral presentation and discussion:
- The written assignment should focus on one of the topics covered in the course unit program and may be submitted at any time during the assessment period.
- The assignments will be carried out individually or in groups (maximum of 2 students).
- The written assignment has a limit of 6000 words (text only), and the use of illustrative images is mandatory. It may be supplemented with other types of records.

Students pass with a grade of 10 or higher.
Attendance and participation in the theoretical-practical component is mandatory.
