Objectives
Understand the concepts and principles of conservation, maintenance and buildings rehabilitation and their multidisciplinary integration on the assessment and management of real estate assets.
Identify the main damage factors and degradation mechanisms of buildings and their relationship with the functional and safety requirements of buildings.
Understand the methodologies for diagnosing anomalies and the criteria for preparing maintenance and rehabilitation plans of buildings.
Program
1. Fundamental concepts of conservation, maintenance and rehabilitation of buildings.
2. Functional and safety requirements of buildings.
3. Damaging factors and degradation mechanisms of buildings.
4. Observation and diagnosis of buildings. Methodologies for assessing the current state of buildings.
5. Criteria and techniques for building maintenance and rehabilitation.
Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment (contact period/frequência):
- A practical work - TP1, carried out, individually or in groups of two students, during the contact period/frequência (delivered on a date to be defined with the students), quoted for 20 points and weighting 0.7 in the final classification.
- A practical work - TP2, carried out individually, during the contact period/frequência (delivered on a date to be defined with the students), quoted for 20 points and weighting 0.3 in the final classification.
The final classification (CF) corresponds to the sum of the weighted classifications: CF=0.7xTP1+0.3xTP2.
The minimum final classification, for approval, corresponds to 10 points.
Assessment by exam (exame):
- A written exam test (PEE) held during the exam period (exame or exame de recurso), quoted for 20 points.
The final classification (CF) corresponds to the classification of the written test: CF=PEE.
The minimum final classification, for approval, corresponds to 10 points.
