Objectives
Students should:
a)Understand the importance of UNESCO World Heritage sites in the context of cultural tourism;
b)Identify and characterise Portuguese World Heritage properties;
c)Recognise cultural and social diversity in the context of tourist activity

1. World Heritage/World Heritage Site. Survey, identification and characterization.
1.1. World Heritage Sites in the Center
2. Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage
3. World Heritage classification and its role in the development of tourist destinations
4. Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development. Case Studies.
4.1. Chair in Education, Citizenship and Cultural Diversity
5. Cultural diversity and media in the European context
5.1. Observatory of Cultural Diversity (ODC)
6. Case simulation

Evaluation Methodology
1. Continuous Assessment:

a) Written test (50%);

b) Practical work (35%);

c) Attendance and active participation in classes (15%)

Teaching Method
Theoretical classes will be used to teach conceptual content, which will then be applied in the practical classes. This will be achieved through the development and realisation of simulations in the context of creative and cultural diversity.
