Objectives
An overview of the European Union, its institutions and policies.
Know the institutions of the European Union and understand how they work.
The possibility of changing European geography with the entry of new countries - challenges and opportunities.
Program
1. Introduction to the idea of ??Europe and the desire for European unity.
2. From the ECSC to the EU, from Paris to Maastricht, via Rome, Amsterdam, and the Treaty of Lisbon.
3. The institutional system of the European Union and its functioning.
4. The legal nature of the European Union.
5. The fundamental principles on which the EU is based.
6. The sources of European Union law.
7. The European Community's customs union - the "four freedoms."
8. Community policies.
Evaluation Methodology
A written exam, weighing 50% of the final grade, is added to an individual paper on one of the community policies, to be presented in class, also weighing 50%. Students who obtain a score of 10 or higher are exempt from the exam.
The student admitted to the exam takes a written exam and is "Passed" if they obtain a mark of 10.
At the time of appeal, the student is "Passed" if they obtain a mark of 10.
