Objectives
1. Know the legislation, principles, rules and regulations associated with Quality, Environmental and Safety Management Systems
2. Identify and resolve situations related to the costs of non-conformities in terms of Quality, Environment and Safety, in buildings and works
2.1 know the work processes and procedures
2.2 evaluate the impacts of construction on the environment
2.3 - assess risks in terms of Quality, Environment and Safety
2.4 apply methodologies to control personnel, materials, work methods, spaces and equipment
2.5 apply service and product control methodologies
2.6 apply the PDCA cycle in building and construction management activities
3. Know the contribution of quality tools and BIM to management
3.1 apply BIM methodology to optimize resources and reduce errors in all phases of the buildings life cycle
4. Apply the concept of life cycle and durability to buildings
5. Know the contribution of implementing Management Systems to effectiveness and efficiency.
6. Apply the most appropriate communication rules for the construction sector, at each hierarchical level and recognize the importance of the leader's profile in the company's productivity.

Part I Environment
1. Legislation
2. Quality of life and environmental responsibility. Importance of quality of life. Increase environmental responsibility
3. Ecosystems and biodiversity. Services provided by nature free of charge.
4. Air, water and light pollution
5. Water and waste treatment
6. Ecosystems in urban areas: green areas, riverbanks, slopes, mangrove fronts, beaches and cliffs, etc. Techniques to increase biodiversity. Conflicts with the environment.
Part II Security
1. Legislation on Safety and Health at Work
2. Standardization for Occupational Safety Management Systems (SGSST)
3. OSH policy in an organization/company
4. Safety and Health in the Construction Industry
5. Management of safety and health prevention in construction work
6. BIM as a tool for management and planning in construction
Part III Quality
1. Quality Management and Quality Support Systems. Portuguese Quality System.
2. Requirements of ISO Standards relating to Quality, Environment and Safety Management. Integrated Systems. NP EN ISO 9001, NPENISO 17025. NPEN14001 and NPENISO45001.
3. Risk analysis and cost assessment of non-quality.
4. Continuous improvement (PDCA Cycle)
5. Importance of communication and leadership in the efficiency of construction processes.
Evaluation Methodology
At all times, the assessment consists of the presentation of three works rated for 20 points, carried out during the semester, one for each component (Part I- Environment, Part II-Safety and Part III-Quality).
The final classification is obtained through the arithmetic average of the classifications obtained in the works. Condition for approval: minimum 8 points in each component and final classification equal to or greater than 10 points.

Teaching Method
The teaching methodology is expository and interactive with audiovisual resources, illustrations and tables. The analysis of practical cases, debate and decision-making is promoted.
