Objectives
A) Define Anthropology as a field of knowledge;
A1) Understanding the notion of the Other and its contemporary problematization;
A2) Knowing the purpose of Anthropology as a visual practice;
B) Register the elementary concepts of Anthropology;
B1 Understand the concepts of Anthropology and its relation to other social sciences;
B2) Understand the concept of Participant Observation;
B3) Identify fundamental methodologies of work in Anthropology, including fieldwork and recording;
C) Identify the main developments in Visual Anthropology;
C1) Recognize the contributions of the pioneers of Visual Anthropology;
C2) Understanding Marc Augé's definitions of place and non place in contemporary visual practices;
C3) Thinking performativity in relations of presence from modes of visual representation;
D) Apply the methods of Visual Anthropology;
D1) Recognize the contribution of participant observation to image documentation methods;
D2) Understand the relationship between point of view and matter to be documented;
D3) Understand the contribution of imagery to the narrative arc in ethnography;
E) Empower and promote social, economic and political inclusion for all

Evaluation Methodology
A metodologia de avaliação é uniforme aplicando-se em todas as épocas de avaliação. Desenvolve-se com base na assiduidade e na participação e num conjunto exercícios, partindo dos conteúdos lecionados, a que acresce um exercício final de demonstração de conhecimentos. A classificação final é calculada pela ponderação dos seguintes itens de avaliação:
Assiduidade e participação: 25%
Exercícios propostos: 25%
Exercício Final: 50%
