Prerequisites
Fundamentals of computer networks, including network protocols, architectures, and basic network configuration.
Objectives
1.1 Understand the principles and best practices applicable to the design of campus and data center networks.
1.2 Identify performance, scalability, and security requirements associated with network services.
2.1 Design, configure, and operate campus and data center networks, ensuring compliance with current technical standards and regulations.
2.2 Select and apply technologies and architectures appropriate to the nature and scale of network infrastructures.
3.1 Apply methodologies for diagnosing, identifying, and troubleshooting issues in campus and data center networks.
3.2 Demonstrate technical autonomy, critical thinking, and rigor in the management and maintenance of communication infrastructures.
Program
1. The SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) paradigm in the analysis, design, and planning of network infrastructures.
2. Radio frequencybased wireless network planning for both indoor and outdoor environments.
3. Design of campus and data center networks, considering defined SLA levels and the most appropriate technologies.
4. Design of security solutions for local and data center networks.
5. Acceptance testing, management, and operation of data networks and their supporting services.
Evaluation Methodology
Individual or group lab assignments (35%), final project (35%) + individual test/exam (30%)
Requirements: minimum mark of 8/20 in the theoretical component and minimum mark of 10/20 in the labs and final project.

The course includes theoretical and practical sessions, which may be delivered via distance learning, covering the fundamental concepts of the course unit. Laboratory sessions provide hands-on experience through the simulation of computer networks. T
