Objectives
Students should be able to understand the main economic facts that, in the modern history of the Western world, have substantially determined the configuration of the world and society today.
In this general context, the first key objective will be to guide students towards acquiring knowledge based on understanding and interpreting data. When, where, why and under what circumstances will always be present questions.

Evaluation Methodology
Frequency Assessment:
During this period, assessment of the CU is continuous.
Students will be assessed on three elements:
1 - Written test – 40%
2 - Classwork – 20%
3 - Final assignment - 40% (Written – 20% + Oral – 20%)
Students who do not submit one of the assessments described above will be admitted to the exam if they:
- do not obtain a minimum grade of 7 in the written test;
- do not obtain a minimum grade of 10 in the 2 assignments.
In this course unit, point 5 of Article 8 of the Academic Regulations applies (mandatory attendance of 2/3 of TP classes).

Assessment by Examination:
• Written test – 100%
Minimum pass mark: 10 points.
Students pass the CU in accordance with the provisions of Points 11 and 12 of Article 11 of the IPT Academic Regulations.
During the Special Examination Period, the provisions of Assessment by Examination apply.
