Objectives
A. Identify the formal elements of intersection and delimitation between fiction and non-fiction in cinema.
B. Understand the taxonomic criteria applied to documentary cinema.
C. Know the film construction formulas associated with documentary genres.
Program
1. Fiction x Non-fiction: distinctive elements, intersection and complementarity
2. Taxonomy of cinematographic genres: proposals and debate
3. Documentary genres: formal categories and conventions
4. Film construction formulas in documentary cinema
5. Production of filmic exercises
Evaluation Methodology
1. Assessment by Frequency
1.1 Attendance and regular intervention on film topics discussed in class (10%).
1.2 Production of 1 film exercise lasting 10-15 minutes (worth 80%). The film exercise is individual and must focus on a documentary genre (of the student's choice).
Preparation of 1 descriptive memory (worth 10%) relating to the film exercise produced by the student.
2. Assessment by exam
2.1 Normal Season, Appeal Season and Special Season: the same film exercise (worth 90%) and the same descriptive memory (worth 10%) will be requested as in the context of assessment by frequency (100%).
The evaluation is made in accordance with the provisions of Art. 11 of the Academic Regulation of IPT Schools. Students who obtain a grade equal to or greater than 10 values are waived from the Exam.
