Prerequisites
There are no specific entry requirements. However, it is important that students have a good grasp of auditing and accounting.

Objectives
This module aims to provide students with a sound understanding of national and international auditing standards and of the procedures to be followed by auditors in each circumstance, in order to obtain appropriate and sufficient audit evidence to support their opinion.
To this end, the aim is to equip Master’s students with a reasonable understanding of the audit process and the necessary skills to enable them to survey and assess the internal control system, evaluate existing risks, define materiality thresholds, draw up the overall audit plan, master the techniques generally adopted to obtain audit evidence, draw appropriate conclusions and assess their potential impact on the auditor’s report.
Master’s students should become aware of the importance of auditing in ensuring the credibility of financial information in the eyes of the various stakeholders.

Evaluation Methodology
1. Continuous assessment:
- Two written tests, each accounting for 50 per cent of the mark;
- Students will pass if their final mark is 9.5 or above (weighted average).
- Mark defence: for a final mark higher than 16. Failure to attend will result in a mark of 16 being awarded
- All other students will be admitted to the examination
2. Non-continuous assessment
- Examination (regular sitting): Written test – 100%.
- Resit examinations and other examination periods: Written examination (100 per cent).
- Oral defence: for a final mark higher than 16 marks. Failure to attend will result in a mark of 16 being awarded
