Objectives
The aim is for students to be able to recognise historical and archaeological heritage and the importance of protecting it, as well as to apply some of the techniques for capturing data in archaeology and how to convert this data for tourism purposes.

Program
1. Definition of archaeology and history.
2. Developing archaeological heritage education strategies to enhance heritage and to recognise and pass on heritage in the context of tourism.
3 On the timeline. Portuguese chrono-cultural framework.
4. Portuguese archaeological heritage
5. Regional historical heritage.

Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment will include a piece of work (portfolio - compulsory coursework carried out by the student) on historical and archaeological heritage (60%), class participation worth 40% of which 10% for participation in the classroom and discussion work or problem-solving and 30% for practical collaboration in the development of activities for the Days.
For the Exam or subsequent assessment components, a practical assignment will be considered to recognise a historical-archaeological site, its territorial surroundings and cultural context including treatment for the purposes of dissemination or tourism - 100%.

Teaching Method
Oral presentation of case studies and theoretical content on the different periods, discussion of tourism application strategies, with group and individual work on the development of tourism educational content and practices.
