Objectives
The main objective of this course is to provide students with the concepts and fundamental techniques of processing and analysis of digital signals (DSP).
In the end, students should be able to simulate, design and implement DSP system, with mains focus on the implementation of digital filters.
Program
1- Introduction
2- Discrete signals and systems
3- AD and DA conversion
4- Statistical description of discrete signals
5- Discrete Fourier transform and spectral estimation methods
6- Design, analysis and implementation of FIR and IIR digital filters
7- Implementation of digital filters in C language in microprocessors/microcontrollers.
Evaluation Methodology
Written test (50% weight)
Practical component: homework (10% weight) + laboratory projects (40% weight)
The approval in the discipline requires a minimum of 40% in the written test and a minimum of 50% in the practical component. Homework and laboratory projects have deadlines that are defined throughout the year.
These evaluation criteria and methods apply to all periods of evaluation.
