Prerequisites
Knowledge about sound, propagation and reception.
Practice with sound capture and organisation of sound files on the computer.

Objectives
a) Analise sound design projects using practical examples and scientific literature;
b) Plan Film Sound projects;
c) Develop Film Sound Projects;
d) Identify other areas where Sound Design is used.

4. Sound Design technologies
5. Sound Design practices and techniques
6. The professional practice of a Sound Designer

Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment:
20% - Attendance and participation
20% - A1. Essay: critical analysis of a film soundtrack
15% - A2. Realization of practical tasks of reference in the work of sound design
20% - A3. Practical work: creation of the soundtrack for an advertisement
25% - A4. Practical work: creation of the soundtrack for a narrative excerpt (pairs)

Exam
20% - A1. Essay: critical analysis of the soundtrack of an excerpt
20% - A2. Practical exercises with reference strategies
60% - A3. Practical work: creation of soundtrack for a film


The evaluation is done according to the provisions of Article 11 of the Academic Regulations of IPT's Schools. Students who obtain a mark of 10 or more in the Frequency Examination are exempt from exams.
