Prerequisites
A pass in previous modules: Physical; Applied Mechanics; Mechanics of Materials

Objectives
The students should learn the basic concepts:
of failures resulting from static and variable loading; of lubrification and wear. And be able to design of mechanical elements as welding, brazing, bonding, screws, fasteners, mechanical springs shafts and axles.

1. Fatigue project. Prevention to Fatigue:
1.1. Characterization of the fatigue process
1.2. Fatigue stress cycles and its fundamental parameters
1.3. Characterization of fatigue strength curves
1.4. Behavior parameters to fatigue
1.5. General methods of design and design fatigue
1.6. Fatigue analysis range of variable load
1.7. Cracking fatigue life; Application of Fracture Mechanics
2. shafts and shaft couplings:
2.1. Design of shafts for static charges
2.2. Sizing shafts fatigue
2.3. Concentration voltages
2.4. Sizing shafts to deformation
2.5. Materials used in veins

3. Welded:
3.1. Types of joints
3.2. Static calculation of welded joints

Evaluation Methodology
Students are assessed through written exams in one of the three instituion evaluation periods. The written test will have a minimum of 9.5 for approval.
