Objectives
a) Identify and conceptually understand the main theories of cinema.
b) Establish critically and reflexively the relationship between theory and practice of cinema.
c) Understand the evolution of aesthetic and technological paradigms.
d) Relate to cinema theory and the fifth Sustainable Development Objective (ODS): Gender Equality.

3. First theoretical approaches: Hugo Münsterberg, Bela Balázs and Rudolf Arnheim. 4. Soviet theorists: Lev Kulechov, Vsevolod Pudovkin, Serguei Eisenstein and Dziga Vertov.
5. Phenomenology of Realism: Andre Bazin, Sigfried Kracauer, Guido Aristarco and Slavoj Zizek.
6. The politics of authoship: Le Cahiers du Cinéma.
7. Modern cinema: András Kovács and Gilles Deleuze.
8. Other Cinemas: Frantz Fanon, Glauber Rocha and Fernando Solanas.
9. Theory and gender equality (5 ODS): Laura Mulvey
10. Digital cinema and convergence culture: Lev Manovich, Tom Gunning and Henry Jenkins.
