Objectives
The objective is to prepare students to know the Art Market structure and to solve theoretical and practical problems of expertise and evaluation of works of art. At the end of the course students should be able to analyze the Art Market and to collaborate in expertise and evaluation of works of art
Program
Part One I Introduction: a) general notions; b) definitions; II Art Market: general notions 1 works of art (goods); 2 art market players (agents); 3 art market places (locals); 4 legislation; III Expertise: a) expert; b) experts activity; c) experts report; IV Evaluation of works of art: 1 main factor in evaluation; 2 secondary factors in evaluation.
Part Two Basics of expertise and evaluation in artistic areas of: a) painting; b) sculpture; c) gold, silver and jewelry; d) furniture; e) ceramics; f) graphic documents; etc. Will be invited an expert from one of the areas of artistic knowledge to convey your experience. A field trip to an Art Market institution will be made.
Evaluation Methodology
The evaluation is carried out through a written work which should be about one or more of the topics covered in class. Should have between 10 and 15 pages of text, unlimited images and/or attachments, must have a minimum of 10 and be presented orally

Teaching Method
Contents are presented with projection of images to allow the understanding of the aspects of Art Market, Identification, Expertise and Valuation of Works of Art. Are accompanied by texts written by the teacher. In a class will be observed an expert.
