Objectives
At the end of the course students should be familiar with the various types of bioenergy, their production processes, their applications, their contribution to sustainable development, its advantages and disadvantages, its importance in the development of the country and Europe.
Program
1.Introduction to bioenergy.
2.Description of the production processes of liquid biofuels.
3.Description of the production processes of gaseous biofuels.
4.The use of biofuels in cogeneration.
5.Other types of bioenergy.
6.Other types of renewable energy.
7.Comparison with fossil energy sources.
Evaluation Methodology
Closed-book written test in the appropriate seasons. Laboratory coursework and reports with a minimum mark of 10/20.
Presentation of an assignment on a topic of the students' choice.
