Objectives
On completion of the unit the students should be able to identify photographic documents; view photographs as a source of information and a document; be aware of the particularities of this kind of collections and design and implement a plan for the treatment of archived documents.
Program
International standards for the description of photographic images. Physical description of the source object. Studying on-line image databases. Exercises, searches, queries and critical analysis of image databases. Description of a small collection....

Continuous assessment. Test and/or final examination. Assessment of the students reports and portfolios.
