Mechanical Engineering? Mechanical Project and Production

The Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering - Mechanical Design and Production, provides a set of theoretical knowledge combined with a strong practical component that allows the realization of projects and the development of products and equipments as well as production support.

 

Provide a solid scientific and technological, supported by a programme and courses that includes contact with real situations and laboratories experiences. This cycle of studies is based on the development of a diverse set of skills and competencies that permits excellent career opportunities and pursue Ph.D. studies.

Objectives

The Master's Degree has as general objectives to provide students with skills in the fields of design methodologies and the development of products and equipments for the processing of raw materials, materials technology, the mechanical behaviour of materials and automation and control technologies processes.

Specific skills:

  • To develop the mechanical design process in its various stages;
  • To perform computational analyzes that allow the study and problem solving;
  • To apply experimental methods to analyze and solve problems;
  • To predict and detect possible causes of failure in mechanical systems;
  • To design and manufacture products and equipments using conventional and new technologies;
  • To know how to access the necessary information by using engineering databases;
  • To contact with experts from different areas of knowledge.

Professional Goals

The Master's Degree holders in Mechanical Engineering - Mechanical Design and Production can develop their profession as:
  • Officers;
  • Managers / project supervisors;
  • Engineers in different departments, design, production, planning, testing, research and development, etc.

They can also work as engineers/technicians of companies:
  • Consulting;
  • Construction;
  • Automation;
  • Energy systems;
  • Renewable energy;
  • etc.
