Prerequisites
Basics of structure and reactivity of organic compounds.

Objectives
Study of the morphology, synthesis, classification and day-to–day usage of polymers.
Relationships between chemical structure and properties of macromolecular materials.
Detailed study of the main polymerisation reactions and the processing of plastic materials.

Program
1 – Basics of macromolecular structure, classification and nomenclature of polymers.
2 – Chemical structure, morphology, properties and characterization of polymers.
3 – Polymerization reactions – stages, characteristics and kinetics.
4 – Polymer processing.

Evaluation Methodology
Laboratory continuous evaluation. Group assignment including oral presentation.
Final theoretical test.
