Objectives
The students are expected to gain skills in systems management that will allow them to manage service and application servers,
manage network services and manage storage systems and backup files of all services and applications.
Program
1. The problems involved in the management of heterogeneous
information systems.
2. Survey, inspection and audit tools.
3. Systems Management and Windows Networks 2003/2008: installation and configuration.
4. Systems and Linux
Networking management: installation and configuration.
5. User management.
6. File systems management.
7. Security policies.
Evaluation Methodology
- Practical component (80%) minimum mark: 10/20.
Final mark is the weighted average of 3 practical assignments: Individual
assignment (30%) Group assignment 1 (30%) Group assignment 2 (40%)
