Prerequisites
          Digital systems
Objectives
On completion of the module, the students should be able to program 8 bit PIC microcontrollers of the 18F family, accomplishing projects that involve reading sensors, signal acquisition, motor actuation, and data communication.
Program
          - Introductory concepts: digital systems, numerical representation and datatypes
- Generic computer architecture: main modules and buses
- 8 bit PIC microcontrollers: architecture, configuration and programming
- digital input/output, internal and external interruptions, timers, counters, PWM and analog inputs
- O.S. introduction
Evaluation Methodology
Written exam (60%), Lab work (40%) (compulsory assessment requirements: a minimum of 45% in the written exam and a minimum of 50% in the Labs)
