Objectives
The students should be able -to apply the artistic binding techniques and the processes and methods for
the preservation and treatment of bibliographic material, - to evaluate the resistance and sustainablity of
bibliographic material -identify and correct anomalies.
Program
Theory: The preservation of graphic items Materials, degradation agents, preservation, diagnosis and
treatment; Binding: materials, machines, tools and techniques, processes, typology, decoration and
styling. Tests according to applicable methodology. Treatment: hygienization,
disinfestation, disacidification, consolidation, lamination, integration and packaging.
Evaluation Methodology
Laboratory assignments - Continuous assessment, reports; written test.
