Objectives
Students should be able to:
- recognise and appropriately apply specific vocabulary related to management information systems;
- apply a set of linguistic and sociocultural skills in specific communicative situations;
- use textual interpretation and production skills correctly in accordance with structural and grammatical rules;
- communicate fluently and reproduce real-life situations.
Program
A. Thematic content:
1. English as a global language - Everyday communication; oral interaction in specific contexts.
2. The world of work - Specific documents: CVs; formal/professional correspondence and emails; career opportunities; interviews.
3. Current developments in management information systems - Text analysis.
4. New technologies
B. Grammar content: verb tenses; articles; adjectives; passive voice; affixation rules; conditional clauses.
Evaluation Methodology
* Frequency assessment (covers all students except those covered by other legal statutes).
A written test - minimum grade of 8 - (50%)
A written assignment with oral presentation - (30%);
Continuous assessment: participation in classes in the written and oral components/practical work carried out in the classroom (20%).
All assessment components are compulsory. If any of them are missing, the student is automatically admitted to the exam.

A written test - minimum grade of 8 - (70%)
A written assignment with oral presentation - (30%)

Students are approved if they obtain a grade higher than 10, according to the weightings assigned to all assessment items.

-Final Research Project (written 15% and oral 15%) - 30%
If they have not completed it during the semester, they must submit it and present it orally on the day of the exam.
Students are approved if they obtain a final grade of 10 or higher.
