1 To critically examine the construction of the anthropological “Other” through the discipline’s colonial legacies and contemporary critiques, relating knowledge, representation, appropriation and expropriation.

3 To apply participant observation, autoethnography and interviews to the investigation of an anthropological question, recognising one’s own position and involvement in the field.

4 To organise and interpret information in a field notebook, bringing together observations, testimonies, images and reflections, distinguishing between description and interpretation, and contextualising the conditions under which records are produced.

5 To critically analyse how images are constituted and used as documents in the production of anthropological knowledge, considering the relationships between experience, testimony, interpretation and representational authority.
