Objectives
1-Identify and characterize geological materials.
2- Test materials for soil and rock characterization and interpret results.
3- Determine, through calculation, physical indices of materials, flows, water pressures in the soil and structures.
4-Know the stress-strain relationships and perform calculations.
5- Write reports, opinions or conclusions about the work carried out
Program
1-Structure and composition of the Earth.
2. Internal Geodynamics.
3. Minerals and rocks.
4- Identification and characterization of rock masses and geological structures.
5- Rock Mechanics.
6- Geological maps: reading, interpretation and profiling.
7- Soil Mechanics: origin and types of soils; physical and mechanical properties; standardization, testing and classification of soils; water in the soils.
8- Pressures in the rocks: state of tension at rest; effective tension principle; voltages induced by external loads. Stress-strain relationships. Elastic solutions.
9. Sustainability.
Practice: Identification of mineral and rock samples. Tests: classification and characterization of soils and rocks. Exercise resolution.
