Objectives
1. Understanding the concept of management, its functions and levels; 2. Knowing the principles of organization; 3. Developing the skills associated with business management, planning and decision-making processes; 4. Knowing the different organizational models; 5. Becoming aware of the issues associated with knowledge management and organizational learning; 6. Becoming aware of the internationalization of companies and their management;
7. Ensuring access to inclusive, quality and equitable education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. (Sustainable Development Goal No. 4, according to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015).

2. Principles of organization, 2.1. Summary overview of Organizational Theories, 2.2. The structure of organizations, 2.3. Centralization vs. Decentralization, 2.4. Vertical and horizontal specialization.
3. Planning and decision-making process, 3.1. Planning, objectives and strategy, 3.2. Methods and factors for decision-making.
4. The individual and social determinants of organizational dynamics, 4.1. Human motivation at work, 4.2. Leadership and its impact on individuals, groups and organizations.
5. Organizational models, 5.1. The determinants of structure, 5.2. The characteristics of structure performance, 5.3. Organizational configurations, 5.4. New organizational forms, 5.5. Networked organizations, 5.6. Acquisitions and mergers, 5.7. Strategic alliances.

Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment:
- Group work with presentation (worth 40%);
- Individual practical cases, solved in class (worth 10%);
- Individual written test (worth 50%).
Students who score less than 8 (eight) marks in the written test will sit the exam.
The exam and the resit exam will consist of only one written assessment, a test, and must have a minimum mark of 10 (ten marks) to pass the course.
