Objectives
A - Students should identify different discourses produced by the media based on their characteristics, target audience, and objectives.
B - Students should understand the importance of social responsibility inherent in the media, particularly through the analysis of their content and discourses related to causes and representations.
C - Students should analyze information and other content consumption habits, particularly through studies and reports, but also through diaries.

Program
1. Media Identity(ies): Different Media, Different Editorial Lines, Different Audiences
2. Objectivity and Neutrality: Definitions, Limits, and Constraints.
3. The Causes of Media: Addressing Key and/or Divisive Issues.
4. Representations in Media: Minorities and Off-Agenda Issues.
5. Authenticity of Discourses and Fact-Checking: Manipulation and Polygraphs
6. Information Consumption and Consumption of Other Content: Study Analysis and Diary Creation

Evaluation Methodology
Assessment by frequency:
Individual work: Media Discourse Analysis (20%)
Group work: Lecture or interview with a media professional (40%)
Media Consumption Work (40%):
- Individual diary production
- Group analysis of studies on content consumption by young people
- Presentation of results in an international context

Assessment by Exam:
Grade obtained on the work completed during the semester (50%)
Written test on the topics developed during the semester (25%)
Oral test on the topics developed during the semester (25%)

The student passes the course in accordance with the provisions of Points 11 and 12 of Article 11 of the IPT Academic Regulations.

Working students must submit their status to the instructor by email by the end of the first month of classes so that a plan can be developed to successfully complete the course.

Erasmus and International students must contact the teacher to find out about their assessment method within two weeks of their arrival.
