Objectives
1. Know the importance of the various arts applied in Portugal and the main artistic expressions and typologies of the following arts: Retable art and carving arts; Gilded polychrome wooden ceilings; Furniture; Utilitarian and decorative ceramics; Cladding ceramics; Decorative architectural ceramics; Tapestry; WWallpaper.
2.Identify and technologically characterize the different arts - know the materials and techniques of artistic production.
3. Recognize and identify the historical-artistic and technological evolution of the main applied arts in Portugal.

Evaluation Methodology
Assessment is the weighted average of three written assignments on three different types of cultural assets, each marked by one of the three instructors.
Students who do not complete all the assignments or whose weighted average is lower than 10 will be porposed to sit the examination. The assessment methodology is the same, both for the continuous assessment period and the examination period.
The student is exempted from taking the examinatation with a mark of 10 or more.
Each of the three written assignments is limited to 1000 words of text (excluding the title, table of contents, subtitles and bibliography). The use of photos/images of the items is compulsory and may be complemented with other types of records.
