Objectives
1. Understand the importance of accounting within management information systems as an element that provides useful information for decision-making;
2. Know the conceptual structure and valuation criteria of the SNC (National Accounting System);
3. Know and apply the SNC;
4. Know the mechanics of the double-entry bookkeeping process;
5. Know the accounting recording process (from the journal to the income statement and balance sheet);
6. Study - treatment and accounting recording - of business operations in the operating cycle - accounts of the classes of Liquid Financial Resources (MFL), Inventories and Biological Assets (I) and Accounts Receivable and Payable (CRP).
7. Understand the importance and risks of using digital tools and artificial intelligence.

Evaluation Methodology
1. Avaliação contínua:
- Dois testes (35%+35%=70%), sendo a nota mínima a média de 7 valores nos dois testes;
- Trabalho em grupo (30%) sendo a nota mínima de 10 valores;
- Obterão aprovação os estudantes com classificação final igual ou superior a 9,5 valores (média ponderada).
- Defesa de nota: para classificação final superior a 16 valores. A não presença implica a atribuição da classificação de 16 valores
- Os restantes estudantes serão admitidos a Exame
2. Avaliação não contínua
- Exame (época normal) Prova escrita (70%) + Trabalho desenvolvido em avaliação contínua (30%), opcionalmente Prova Escrita 100%.
- Exames de Recurso e restantes épocas: Prova escrita (100%).
- Defesa de nota: para classificação final superior a 16 valores. A não presença implica a atribuição da classificação de 16 valores

Teaching Method
The methodologies to be used are the expository method, using slide projection, the deductive and inductive methods, including documentary research, and artificial intelligence. The pedagogical simulation methodology is also employed.
