Objectives
A. Understand the impact of interface design on user experience and the effectiveness of digital systems.
B. Plan and develop site maps and user flows to structure navigation within digital systems.
C. Develop wireframes and mockups as visual foundations for interface design and development.
D. Apply principles of visual hierarchy and layout organisation.
E. Select and apply typography, colour schemes and iconography appropriate to the project context.
F. Use prototyping tools and methodologies to simulate and test digital interfaces.
G. Identify and apply usability evaluation methods for digital interfaces.
H. Explore emerging trends in interface design, including artificial intelligence, mobile design and immersive experiences such as augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR).

Program
1. Fundamentals of Interface Design
- Definition and key principles of interface design (UI and UX).
- Differences between user interface design and user experience design.
- Accessibility and inclusive design.

2. Interface Research and Planning
- Requirements gathering techniques and target audience analysis.
- Development of personas and user stories.
- Creation of site maps and user flows.

3. Visual Design and Prototyping
- Creation of wireframes and mockups.
- Visual hierarchy and layout organisation.
- Selection of typography, colour schemes and iconography.

4. Interface Design Tools and Technologies
- Introduction to design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
- Interactive prototyping.

5. Usability Testing and Interaction
- Usability evaluation.
- Conducting and analysing user testing.
- Iterative design based on user feedback.

6. Trends and the Future of Interface Design
- Artificial intelligence.
- Mobile design.
- Immersive experiences (AR/VR).

Evaluation Methodology
Regular Assessment Period:
30% – Practical Assignment I
30% – Practical Assignment II
40% – Practical Assignment III

A student will not be eligible to take the examination if:
- They fail to complete any of the assignments.
- They do not obtain a minimum grade of 10 out of 20 in each assignment.
- They do not attend at least two-thirds of the TP classes (Article 8, paragraph 4, of the Academic Regulations).

Examination and Resit Period:
100% – Practical Assignment (minimum grade of 10 out of 20 required to pass the course unit).

Theoretical and Practical Classes, combining the application of theoretical concepts with practical exercises, the analysis of real-world examples, and the development of interface design projects.
Teaching methods include expository and demonstrativ

Prototyping software, such as Adobe XD or equivalent.
Vector graphics software, such as Adobe Illustrator or equivalent.
