Objectives
I. Understand the basic tools and concepts in the areas of digital word processing and vector drawing.
I.1. Understand and become familiar with the operating program's tools (vector drawing).
II. Develop application skills for text editing in vector drawing software.
II.1. Master specific software for editing and creating vector images.
II.2. Develop skills for preparing originals for different uses.
Program
1. Introduction to informatics.
2. Notions of hardware and software.
3. Digital image; distinction between bitmap and vector images.
4. Editing and elaboration of vectorial images (introduction to specific software).
5. The working environment. Definition of the document.
6. Introduction and familiarization with the operational program toolbox.
7. Design by paths and predefined shapes - Creation and manipulation of paths.
8. Transformation, distortion and fusion of objects.
9. Font family, leading, kerning and tracking.
10. Creating and editing graphic patterns and styles.
11. Modes, models and systems of colors.
12. Use of color and gradients.
13. Creation of 2D/3D graphic elements.
14. Types of files.
15. Preparation of originals for different types of use.
Evaluation Methodology
Continuous Assessment
Continuous assessment covers practical work completed in class (95%) and attendance (5%).
Students who attend more than 2/3 (two thirds) of classes and who have completed practical work with a grade equal to or higher than 10 (ten) points are approved and exempt from assessment by exam.
Students who attend less than 2/3 (two thirds) of classes will be excluded from the exam evaluation.
Assessment by Exam. This consists of solving a comprehensive practical problem in which the student demonstrates the skills acquired.
