Objectives
1) Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge on the technical features of the production of a polychrome sculpture, its historical evolution and materials applied.
2) Causes and effects of degradation in polychrome wood sculpture.
3) Materials and methods for conservation of polychrome sculpture.
4) Conform methodologies and materials with the ethical principles of the Conservator-restorer profession.
5) To promote the interdisciplinary exchange between Conservation and Restoration and other areas such as Photography, Chemistry, History, Art History, Decorative Arts, etc.
6) Allowing the student to carry a conservation and restoration intervention in a methodological, ethical and scientific level.

Evaluation Methodology
Practical Component (PC): Laboratorial Practice 25% + Technical Report 25% + Presentation of the work developed in practical classes 10% = 60% of the Curricular Unit.

Students must have a minimum of 10 both in the Laboratoral Practice and the Technical Report to be admitted to the exam.

The Theoretical Component (TC) is assessed by a written exam (40%).

The assessment criteria remain the same for the exam periods.
Grades can can only be improved in the TC.
