6.2 Physical and mechanical properties.
6.3 Identification and classification.
Practical program:
TP1 Identification, cuts and preparation of wood samples.
TP2 Macroscopic observation and microscopic observation of histological sections of different woods.
TP3 Dissociation of wood fibers and microscopic observation of fibers.
TP4 Physical-mechanical tests on paper and cardboard.
TP5 Tests on concrete.
TP6 Tests on aggregates.
TP7 Soil tests.
Evaluation Methodology
1 The evaluation is continuous. The evaluation of the contents transmitted by each of the professors, at any time, takes into account the classifications obtained in the following two evaluation elements:
a) Preparation of a set of mandatory practical assignments and respective reports, under the guidance of the teacher (weight: 70%). The evaluation of each work will be carried out only once during the semester (contact period).
b) Written test, which focuses on the contents transmitted by the teacher (weight: 30%). The 3 written tests (one for each teacher) are the assessment element that is repeated in the different assessment periods. Only students who have completed the assessment component referred to in paragraph a) are admitted to the written tests.
2 - The final classification of the UC, in each evaluation period, is calculated through a weighted average of the 3 classifications (one for each teacher) determined by the methodology referred to in point 1. The weights for the average are the percentages of hours taught by each teacher, that is, 70%, 20% and 10%. The student will pass the UC when the final classification is equal to or greater than 10 values.
