Objectives
A) Define Anthropology as the science of the Other;
A1) Mastering the notion of the Other according to philosophical contributions;
A2) Knowing the purpose of Anthropology as a field of knowledge;
B) Register the elementary concepts of Anthropology;
B1 Understand the concepts of Anthropology, Ethnology, Ethnography, Ethnicity; Community; Emic and Ethical;
B2) Understand the concept of Participant Observation;
B3) Identify fundamental methodologies of work in Anthropology, including fieldwork and recording;
C) Identify the main developments in Visual Anthropology;
C1) Recognize the contributions of the pioneers of Visual Anthropology;
C2) Understand the anthropological meaning of Flaherty's work;
C3) Knowing the relationship between Jean Rouch's work and the problematics of the notion of subject, culture and colonization;
D) Apply the methods of Visual Anthropology;
D1) Recognize the contribution of participant observation to image documentation methods;
D2) Understand the relationship between point of view and matter to be documented;
D3) Understand the contribution of the imagery narrative arc to ethnography;
E) Empower and promote social, economic and political inclusion for all

Evaluation Methodology
Course grade (CC) is the weighted average of the proposed work (Tp) with the mark of the final work(Tf), determined as follows:CC = 0.45Tp + 0.55Tf
The evaluation criteria is the same in all the evaluation seasons (Continuous, Exam and Recourse).
