A. Identify the formal points of intersection and division between fiction and non-fiction in cinema
B. Understand the taxonomic criteria applied to documentary cinema
C. Be familiar with the filmmaking formulas associated with documentary genres

1. Fiction versus non-fiction: distinguishing elements
2. Fiction versus non-fiction: intersection and complementarity
3. Taxonomy of film genres: proposals and debate
4. Documentary genres: categories and conventions
5. Filmmaking formulas in documentary cinema
6. Filmmaking exercises: ethnographic film, scientific film, biographic film, institutional film
Evaluation Methodology
Continuous evaluation
Production of a film exercise with a minimum duration of 5 minutes
Each exercise should focus on one genre
Theoretical and technical review of the work developed in the exercise
Students who in continuous assessment obtain a grade equal to or greater than 10 values are exempt from the Exam.
