Objectives
Students should acquire visual culture that will allow them to identify and discriminate between the different creative languages across history and understand the use of image across time as a vehicle for power and spirituality and how its codes accumulated and persist to the present day.

Baroque: Catholic art vs. reformist art
Neo-Classical and the era of empires
Romanticism and the return to the beginning
Impressionism: the dream of modernity
Cubism, futurism and constructivism: art and revolutions
Dada and Surrealism: the disappointment of modernity

Group assignment (70%)
Group assignment presentation (20%)
Continuous assessment: attendance and participation in online meetings (10%)
