Prerequisites

Objectives
a) Understand the consequences of using different diaphragms and shutter times in the production of a photographic image;
b) Know how to apply the Law of Reciprocity;
c) Understand the consequences of the use of different focal lengths in the production of a photographic image;
(d) distinguish different types of negatives according to their density;
e) Know how to apply the appropriate filter to correct exposure or revelation errors;
(f) produce a thematic project in which the correct understanding and application of the techniques learned during the semester is demonstrated;
Program
Module 1: APERTURE AND SHUTTER SPEED
Analisis and application on image production of different apertures and shutter speed
Module 2: LENSES
Analisis and application of different focal lengths, implication of different points of view in image production
Module 3: BW PRINTING TECHNIQUES
Introduction to manipulation techniques in bw printing,
Module 4: PROJECT
Development of one personal projects, final presentation and discussion
Evaluation Methodology
Continuous evaluation.
3 presentations and 2 reports, valued at 30% of final grade; 2 practical exercises with report valued at 30% of final grade. 1 authorial project valued at 40% of the final grade.
All exercises have to be delivered in the contact period, in the established dates.
The presentations, of obligatory character, will pour on the work produced by the students and the research carried out; they have to be carried out in the period of contact, in the established dates.
Students who do not obtain the minimum score of 8/20 in each component of the theoretical part and the practical part will be excluded from the exam.
Students who obtain scores below 8/20 in their reports assessment should do a test at the end of the semester. The test score replaces the reports' score.
The examination and appeal consist of a written test, and submission of papers that did not obtain the minimum score of 10/20 values in continuous assessment. The exam and resource score will result from the sum of 30% of the theoretical part, 30% of the practical part, and 40% of the project, and will be calculated taking into account the positive evaluations given in the continuous evaluation.
