Objectives
This course follows the genealogy of the various historical processes of color photography, with the aim of giving students the know-how and technical skills to enhance their personal work, both technically and creatively. In the practical classes students will be introduced to the principles of operation and handling required to produce color photographs. The creative potentialities of the color processes will be made evident from examples of works by several authors. On completion of the course, the student should:
1) understand the basic principles of color photography;
2) improve color printing, in a chromogenic process;
3) develop their visual acuity, being able to analise color, correct and color balance their printed images;
4) have a historical perspective on the evolution of color processes and be able to glimpse their insertion in current practices.

Program
Color: interactions, relativity, history and psycology.
Color enlargment. Chromogenic negatives and color prints.
The different printing processes. Color analysis methods.
History of the chromogenic process.

Practice:
Attendance and practice 20%
Exercises 25%
Project 35%

Failure to obtain a grade equal to or higher than 8 during attendance period is grounds for exclusion from exam.

Exame, Supplementary and finalists season:

Students with a grade greater than or equal to 8 to 9.4 will have to present a strategy for improving the previously unapproved assessment components discussed and approved by the teacher.
