Objectives
Students must know types of walls, buildings floors and roofs, as well as the respective coatings and the available technologies, for sustainable building construction processes. Students must know the current constructive processes for the execution of walls, floors and roofs and their respective coverings and coatings, their fields of application, their limitations and their respective advantages and disadvantages. They should also be aware of some factors that induce pathologies in the constructions, such as the water action. It is intended that the students acquire competences to opt for the more appropriate solutions in each case. It is intended that students understand that the functional performance of the building elements depends on the support for the materials used and a technical technique adopted, and acquire technical skills that allow an approach and solving practical problems.
