Objectives
This course is a follow-up to Strength of Materials I and provides further knowledge of analysis of bending phenomena. Students should acquire knowledge and skills to design cross sections and structural connections subjected to combined stresses and design elements subjected to elastic instability
Program
1- Tangential tensions in uniaxial bending
2- Torsion
3- Stress and strain states
4- Combination of N-M-V-T forces
5- Elastic instability
Evaluation Methodology
Written test with two parts. Theoretical part-5 marks and the practical part 15 marks;minimum of 1.5 marks in the theoretical part and a total mark of 9.5 is requrequired to pass. Ongoing assessment requir submission of a coursework.
