Objectives
The students should acquire visual culture that will allow them to identify and discriminate between the different creative languages across history and understand the use of image across time as a vehicle for power and spirituality and how its codes accumulated and subsist to the present day.

Modern Age - the rebirths, the profane and the sacred, communicating in metaphors, art as a profession.
Italian Renaissance and expanding the art of Rome. Baroque and Catholic Counter-Reformation.
Empires and imperial art.
Age Contemporary - modern art to the modern world, the world of machines and industrial image. The new worlds. The new artist paradigm.
Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment: class attendance and constructive participation (20%) + frequency (80%)
Final exam (100%)
