Objectives
Describe HRM practices and systems and assess cultural differences.
Identify the different ways of analyzing the relationships between HRM and organizational performance.
Evaluate the differences in HRM modes resulting from the different international strategic environments and challenges.

Understand HRM in the context of the organization and surrounding factors.
Globalization of markets.
The internationalization of Portuguese Companies.
HRM in Internationalized Companies.
Geographic mobility of staff.
Expatriate management:
-Expert ideal profile.
-Initial training in the language and culture of the host country.
- Expatriation contract.
Management of compensation and performance.
Evaluation Methodology
Students will be assessed based on:
- Attendance / participation in classes (10%);
- Group work (50%);
- 1 Individual test (40%);
This evaluation assumes that the student assures an attendance (and punctuality) equal to or greater than 80%.

Teaching Method
In order to facilitate the development of competences this UC uses differentiated pedagogical approaches. Interactive classes; There will be group work and individual work. HR Managers are invited to present concrete experience.
