The aim of this subject is to provide students with the resources that would enable them to understand the works of art

1 - Epistemological differences between Art History, Aesthetics, Art Theory and Art Criticism.
2 - Artistic creation and aesthetic judgment.
2.1 - From taste to the aesthetic sense.
2.2 - Artistic value and aesthetic value.
3 - The status of the work of art and its evolution.
3.1 - The concept of masterpiece.
3.2 - Definition of artistic program and trans-memory Imagetics.
3.3 - The artistic production as "open work" (Umberto Eco)
3.4 -The interpretation of the artwork.
3.5 - The "crypto-history of art" as proposed theoretical renewal.

Evaluation Methodology
* attendance , interest , commitment and ability to deliver innovative work proposals (10%)
* capacity for reflection , intervention and discussion of some topics covered in classes (10%)
* research work, written and presented orally (80%)
